Helena Pereira, PhD student at CMEMS, from the PhD Program Leaders for Technical Industries at the University of Minho (UMinho), under the supervision of Prof. Filipe Silva from CMEMS-UMinho and Prof. Georgina Miranda from the University of Aveiro, was awarded with the 3rd prize in the Compostela Group of Universities VI Research Pitch Competition. Helena presented, in her pitch Guided Absorption Bone Substitutes, a new bone substitute that can be absorbed by the body allowing the natural phase of bone regeneration which will contribute to a better quality of life for patients with bone diseases.
